Plums
Plum is a type of fruit belonging to the genus Prunus, which includes several varieties of plums. Plums are known for their juicy pulp and sweet taste, with a slight acidity that varies depending on the variety.
These fruits are generally small and round or slightly oval, with smooth skin that can vary in color from yellow and green to red, purple and almost black. Inside, the pulp can be yellow, green, red or purple, and usually contains a single large and flat core.
Plums are often eaten fresh, directly from the tree or after a short period of maturation at room temperature. They are sweet and refreshing, making them a great choice for snacks or desserts. In addition, plums can be used in the kitchen to prepare jams, jellies, cakes, juices and even savory dishes.
From a nutritional point of view, plums are a good source of vitamins, in particular vitamin C and vitamin K, and also contain fiber and antioxidants. They are known for their health benefits, including promoting digestion and reducing the risk of several chronic diseases.
Plums are grown in many temperate regions around the world and come in several varieties, each with its own unique flavor, size and color characteristics.
